Run for the Holidays: Turkey Trots & More Around Bowling Green | Crye-Leike Executive Realty

With cooler temperatures in the air, Turkey Trots and similar races are a popular way to work on your fitness levels, whether you're just starting out or are a serious runner. Many are held before, after, and even on Thanksgiving Day, so you'll be able to work off some of your calories from all the turkey, fixings, and desserts.

Lace up your running shoes and get ready for these races, recommended by our real estate agents and planned around Bowling Green during the holidays.

  • The 38th Annual Great Turkey & Gobbler Walk - November 28, 2024 - Kereiakes Park, 1220 Fairview Ave., Bowling Green, KY 42101
Burn off those Thanksgiving Day calories before you feast by participating in your choice of a 5K run or 3K walk at The 38th Annual Great Turkey & Gobbler Walk, held near Bowling Green homes for sale. You'll also be helping the community since the event is the sole fundraiser for the Bowling Green Running Club's High School Athletics Program. After you run or walk, stick around for an awards ceremony, plus the chance to win door prizes.

  • Pie Gobbler 1M, 5K, 10K, 15K & Half Marathon - November 23, 2024 - Michael O. Buchanon Park, 9222 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101
You'll have your choice of five different distances in the Pie Gobbler 1M, 5K, 10K, 15K & Half Marathon. Wear a costume if you'd like to compete in a contest, with the winner being announced at the first race. The course is an out-and-back with little change in elevation, and when you finish the race, you'll receive a themed medal to commemorate your achievement.

  • Viking 1M, 5K, and 10K - November 16, 2024 - Weldon Park, Cleveland Avenue, Glasgow, KY 42141
Like the Pie Gobbler races, the Viking 1M, 5K, and 10K are part of the US Road Running Race Series, so you'll see some similarities between the two. You're not required to join the US Road Running Club to run, but if you do, you'll get half off the registration cost of their races and score a T-shirt. Wear a costume to add to the fun and have a chance at winning a contest at the beginning of the race. You'll run an out-and-back route through the park near Barren County homes for sale.

  • Jingle Bell Run - November 23, 2024 - South Warren High School, 8140 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101
In its 40th year, the Jingle Bell Run continues its tradition of raising money to help the Arthritis Foundation conquer this chronic condition. You're invited to encourage others to join you as you raise money for a worthy cause. Dress up in your festive holiday gear and finish off your look with jingle bells provided to all runners. You'll also get a T-shirt to show off afterward.

  • Ninja 1M, 5K, 10K, 15K, and Half Marathon - November 9, 2024 - Ephram White Park, 885 Mount Olivet Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101
Another US Road Running Club Race, the Ninja 1M, 5K, 10K, 15K, and Half Marathon gives you your choice of a short race of just a mile with options up to a 13.1-mile half marathon. Wear a costume to enter a contest before the races, which are out-and-back routes. You'll also get a themed medal after you finish your race, held in Ephram White Park just around the corner from Warren County homes for sale.
