Several tour types are available to suit every visitor, including short/long walking tours, fully wheelchair-accessible tours, lantern tours, and even some especially adventurous tours, which will require crawling through parts of the caves. Tickets are required for cave tours, and it's strongly recommended to purchase your tickets ahead of time to reserve your spot, as tours often sell out well in advance of the actual date.
  
  
• Ranger-Led Programs
  The park rangers play an important role not just in overseeing the park but also in helping everyone who visits make the most of their experience. One way that they do that is through Ranger-Led Programs, where rangers connect with visitors through walks, talks, and junior ranger activities. Popular programs include Ranger Talks, Let's Go Birding, the Spring Nature Hike, and the Echo River Spring Walk. The shortest programs take about 10 minutes, while the longest can last for up to two hours.
  
  
• Hiking the Trails
  Of course, if you're already an experienced hiker, then you also have the option of exploring the park on your own, and there's a ton here to be discovered by intrepid hikers. There are over 60 miles of trails on the north side of the park alone, including many which offer challenging terrain while winding their way through the backcountry. You'll also find some great trails totaling about 20 miles in the Visitor Center Area, leading to springs, riverfront views, and unique paths through the forest.   There are many other ways to explore the park as well, including kayaking along the waterways, fishing in designated areas, and exploring the trails through horseback riding.
